Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Has Seen Fans' Season 2 Predictions — With Some Positive Updates

The highly-awaited second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video this week, and fan speculation has been widespread.

Season 1 introduces a large cast of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other with musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner stated recently. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season moves, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds now.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans make a bingo card about the new season," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
